2020 has been one hell of a ride, and it’s not even over yet, but soon my friends. As with everything, this too shall pass.
I remember at the beginning of the year I had so many things I wanted to do, traveling, new food spots, festivals, all sorts of things, and then coronavirus came and shit all over that for me and everyone else.
So since march I’ve held my head down, rarely left my house, got a little fatter, enjoyed some awesome new shows, tidy some files up, continued on client work, got new clients, played video games, and organized the studio with some new upgrades.
Not too much has changed for me, working from home is a luxury that I appreciate everyday, but even more so in all of this coronavirus nonsense. But I hate that everything is closed down, nothing to do but keep your head down and get some work done, what ever that may be.
I been trying to get back into everything of sorts lol. Been drawing more, ive been working on more abstract digital artwork again which I have always loved but took a bit of a break from it.
Im starting to write more even if it wasn’t evident from this blog, working on a few new stories and creative projects, but take this post as a sign of more to come thanks to me taking a few extra min to sit down and write.
Starting to write scenes for a cartoon I want to eventually create. Who knows when that will come to fruition, could be some time.
I just posted a new episode of the podcast to the YouTube channel, New videos are always being uploaded so make sure you subscribe to the page so you dont miss anything!
I will be updating the Evan reviews everything page very soon, as well as uploading the new reviews you can only find on Facebook right now to the YouTube page.
As always lots happening working on lots in the background, trying to get artist connect back up and running, really need to push for it. Had some set backs when I tried to laugh blackbook, I think I need to take it back to the roots for now until I figure out how to deal with all the spam users. stay tuned for that.
As always stay tuned for everything, thanks for following, thanks for reading, evdog out.
Okay now I know you clicked on this article so you could comment down below how I’m a piece of shit and how great Gordon Ramsey is, BUT HEAR ME OUT!
I love Gordan Ramsey first of all, I’m probably one of his biggest fans, so lets get that out of the way.
But wholy shit can we talk about how many shows this guy has? He has to have at least 20 shows right? Like its insane, and its hard to imagine, when you think about it, that he has that much free time on his hands after doing his shows as well as all the other stuff he does.
This guy has a show called Gordon behind bars, where he goes and hangs out with inmates. I think this man really likes his time away from his family! He has a show called Gordon’s Great Escape!
Also, have you ever noticed he never talks about his family or home life ever! Seems sort of suspicious if you ask me.
Also, you think he cooks at home? Or you think he just orders Papa Johns for the family? After cooking for 20 shows you think the last thing he would want to do is cook for the family he so seemingly hates.
Of course, I have never met the man, I don’t know his schedule, perhaps he shoots all these shows in the first week of the month then spends the next 3 weeks with his family, unlikely, but who knows.
Even if he is a bad dad, who cares, you know? The man makes a great scallop. I’ll let his bad parenting skills pass for now.
And if means a family growing up without a dad so I can get my daily dose of Gordon yelling at people, so be it.
If you couldn’t tell I was joking but shit, now my jokes got me thinking??? hmmm… what do you think? Do you think Gordon is a good dad, or do you think its none of our fucking business! Leave your answer in the comments and tune in next week to see what you won!
P.S Enjoy Some of my favorite Moments from the chef in this compilation I made
Trying to get back on schedule, I’ve been working on so many different things that my time management sort of went out the window. I’ve been restructuring the framework of all my brands yet again, and sort of rethinking what all my brands mean and stand for… in the beginning I sort of published everything together. Then I was afraid of diluting one brands image with another. So I split everything up, created separate pages, websites, and social medias for all these brands.
It was nice keeping everything organized but posting and trying to maintain so many different channels, and grow them, much harder than if you were to just focus on one. I’ve kind of come to the conclusion that I don’t need to split my content into niches and keep them separated. I am the niche. If people have a problem with any content I create, thats their problem. I create content on a wide array of different subjects, that’s what I love to do. Im not going to worry anymore about whether or not one category of my content will turn people away from another category of my content.
To further clarify just to paint the picture, I create content about marketing and helpful tutorials, and other things that may not mesh well with other areas of my content, like Dopely Diverse, my umbrella company in which I publish all my creative outlets under. There lies another example, if your a frequent user of this site, you for sure know I create content around marketing, but you may have never heard of Dopely Diverse. That wasn’t by accident. I tried keeping any brand one could see as “counter-culture” far away from my brands that reside in a more corporate and professional setting.
But to me you can be professional, and real, and the real ones see that, and thats the only people I want to work with anyway, you know what I mean?
So what does this mean?
As far as social media goes, for youtube, I will be moving the Evan Review’s Everything, Digital Clinic, and Escaping Finlandia Youtube Channels and all the respected content over to the Dopely Diverse youtube page and that is where all future content will be posted.
As for Instagram, Content for the brands listed above will now be posted on Dopely Diverse’s Instagram page.
As for Facebook Pages, All brands will keep their individual pages with Dopely Diverse facebook page reposting most of the content from individual pages.
As for the site, much more content will be posted to this site, which is what Ive always wanted, more of everything I do, no censoring, thats why I bought the url: evansworld.digital cuz thats what this site it. Its not just escaping Finlandia anymore, which originally started as a travel blog and grew into all of this. I just love to document everything I do and I know I would regret having to look back at this period and not doing exactly what I wanted for some fear of dumb shit I shouldn’t be worried about in the first place.
This sites gonna go from 100% real to 500% real. Just wait. 2020 Gonna be an amazing year!
ps.Thanks for the subscribers and reoccurring users, I see you, thanks for supporting the site
I have not done a captains log for a while so I figured I would to let you guys know what’s been going on. Things are moving fast and I’m super excited for what the rest of this year has in store for us.
The newest thing added to the site is the Content Roster & Schedule page, its to help me stay on track with all my content, you can go there to see when you should expect things to drop.
The ERE YouTube page has been launched and 2 new reviews have been uploaded with more always on the way check the content schedule to see when.
A new Digital Clinic article has been posted, its the 1st of a series featuring the worst problem on each social media.
I CREATED A SOCIAL NETWORK. I never thought I would get to say those words, although I did it with plugins I still think its a cool feat, as well as for a good cause, it is a social networking platform exclusively for artists. It’s called Blackbook running through Artist Connect.
Wizard continues to pick up clients and keep me busy, lots of logos, always check out the portfolio section of my site to see my latest designs and please leave feedback it means the world to me to hear that stuff.
Some interesting things are going to be coming out of wizard very soon, so keep an eye out. Its going to be a guidance program of sorts.
New video content is always coming to the youtube channels so make sure to subscribe, you can click the buttons to the left in the sidebar.
New gaming content is also coming. But I mean all sorts of new content is always coming. Constantly designing editing or capturing.
I thank you all for supporting me and sharing his wild experience with me, love you if your reading.
Great movie, well done, good casting, its gonna be a yes from me dawg.
Man. I knew there was a reason I hated McDonalds. And no, its not just because they have THE SHITTIEST food in the fast food industry. But because of the “why” they have the shittiest food.
I never knew the story of McDonalds. But it’s one I’ve heard 1000 times. Piece of shit business/corporate man ruining the artistic vision of ones dreams.
This is a sad story… and again one that happens to many times in this world.. if you were like me and haven’t watched this yet and do not know the story ill fill you in (spoiler but its history so) Ray Kroc, a struggling and greedy businessman sees opportunity when he stumbles upon what he sees as the most revolutional restaurant in the industry, the real piece of art, the vision, crafted by 2 brothers who started with nothing but a dream. Long story short he ends up screwing them by making a ton of changes they don’t want as well as buying the land that the McDonalds are built on, making a huge profit.
In the end, the brothers sell their shares of the company to Kroc, but he has to screw them one last time by not including the royalties in the written contracts, instead he gave them his word that he would pay them. I would not have trusted him.
This dood robbed them. And I realize he’s dead and everything but I still see Mcdonalds as this evil corporation, because that’s what they are.
Too bad it couldn’t have been the Macdonalds brothers vision.
Everything they didn’t want to go wrong with their brand did because of Kroc, the quality fell, tremendously I assume by peoples reaction in this movie eating McDonalds from back in the day lol. Not everyone had their vision. Not everyone cared, look at the McDonalds of today, disgusting.
And because of that, IMO, McDonalds is the worst Fast Food Franchise out there, when if it stuck to the original vision is could be on the scale of in-and-out. Im sure McDonalds is bigger but quality is what matters and any person in their right mind would pick a in-and-out burger over McDonalds every day of the week.
Anyway, DONT EAT MCDONALDS!!! Thats My review on that.
BUT DO WATCH THE FOUNDER, GREAT MOVIE AND GREAT PERFORMANCE BY MICHAEL KEATON!
Lots of people will say yes, and up until recently I would have been one of those people. I would have told you not to post more than 3 times, unless what your posting is very high quality content. The reason for me and many others saying this is because you don’t want to clutter your followers feed with a shit ton of content that they may not see as “high quality”.
But with the current landscape of Instagram, I would say there’s no limit, as long as you’re smart about it. Let me explain those two things.
1. So, I am now saying, I believe there’s no limit because of the current climate or landscape of Instagram. What I mean by that is Instagram is very slowly(and not totally) becoming facebook, in regards to pay to play. Instagram use to be the King of Organic Reach(a title now held by Pinterest) and its still a great place for Organic Reach, but they have been killing it off more and more as time goes on, of course because they want you to pay for ads. So what does this have to do with the limit of posting you should do? Well with organic reach falling, that means when you post something and you have a large following, only a smaller and smaller percentage of your followers may see your post in their feed. With this being the case, I believe one can now worry less about cluttering your followers feed not only that but I feel as if one should see the need to post MORE content.
2. BUT, you still need to be smart about it, and when I say this I pretty much mean, post quality content! And use hashtags wisely, as in, do not use the same ones over and over, create different types of content where you can branch out and use different hashtags maximizing your reach.
So my opinion, backed by what I see and live(I’ve been experimenting with the algorithm quite a bit lately), you shouldn’t have to worry about posting too much these days, in fact you should be posting as much as you can(as long as its genuine high quality content) to maximize potential reach.
But honestly now that I reflect back, this has always been the case, there has never been a limit as long as you post genuine high quality content, theres no cluttering your followers feed, they come to the feed for the content, they want to consume it! (Again as long as its good) if I’m following a tech page that makes cool videos on tech, I’m not going to care if they post 20 videos a day, if there good, i’ll watch!
So there’s your answer. Fuck Limits, break the rules. Produce awesome content and no one will care how many times you post a day.
p.s theres an underlying theme in all marketing questions… and that is, all this other stuff we talk about doesn’t really matter(well it does) BUT IT ALL STARTS AND COMES BACK TO THE CONTENT. If you have great content you can break all the rules! Create great content and things will fall into place, I promise.
Another P.s Some of the greatest content producing sites have horrible SEO(you know that thing in marketing that IS SO IMPORTANT), but still gain traffic. Why? Because the content wills it.
I made this movie poster for the upcoming rick grimes movie. Even though I think they ruined the show by going so far off the source material, I am really interested on where there going to take rick’s story, And I think they totally have a chance at redemption if they do it right.
I’m not even going to guess because I have no idea what they’re gonna do, but I feel like Rick Grimes is going to be the savior for all of humanity, doods gonna be the king of the new world or some shit.
If where ever rick is being taken to, ends up being allies, he will probably become the leader since no one is more badass than Rick, and I’m sure some how he will reunite with his group/family by the end of these 3 movies. Who knows whats gonna happen? There’s so many possibilities at this point. I hope its something epic.
Rick’s helicopter lands on a navy carrier thats floating off the east coast as he fades out. Jadis steps out as a figure thats not yet revealed to the audience says to her “welcome back.”
The unknown figure looks down at rick. “it cant be” he mumbles to himself.
Ricks vision is blurred, he looks up to see a figure in a lab coat, he then fades out again, this time slipping into a coma.
The unknown figure instructs some others to bring Rick to the infirmary.
(6 years pass, or a few years to make it easier to line up with the shows time skip)
Rick starts to wake up in bed, his vision unblurs to see Jadis sitting next to his bed, he then notices a man in a lab coat facing the other way, he finally manages to mumble out, “Jadis, where are we?”
Before Jadis can answer, Dr. Edwin Jenner turns around and says “France.”
BOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!! thats the intro for the first movie
(if you remember from season 1 Jenner is the Dr in the CDC, he mentions the French were the last ones working on a cure…of course they would have to explain how he survived the blast but im sure walking dead could figure that out lol)
Where ever hes going its safe to assume it will be pretty far away, other wise I feel like the Rick Grimes we know would just go right back home, his journey his gonna have to be some odyssey type shit to keep him away for years.
I realized that I have not yet posted this comment to my site, so here it is, we were in a group talking about cold sales so I shared my technique as no one was talking about doing it this way, everyone was talking about walking door to door with there pad giving the same speech to business owners. I like my way better, you come to them not as a salesman, but as a customer who actually cares and wants to help. Ill expand more on this method in my new “Locally Grown” Project, but for now, read the comment below to hopefully receive some insights and value.
You know I had to go back to Las Vegas. What better reason than Electric Daisy Carnival? None. I decided soon after I got home from Life is Beautiful that I was going back for North America’s biggest dance festival.
I have been wanting to go to EDC for a very long time but each year it just hasn’t worked out. This year with my flexible work hours it worked out quite well 🙂 ! I had to bring Lindsey along with me, so that was a good time.
We decided to stay at the Stratosphere because I saw it the first time in Vegas, and I really wanted to do the sky jump, we’ll get to that later. Anyway, the stratosphere was a super nice hotel, the casino was nice and the bars were top notch, lol. Everyone else arriving that day was for EDC, we ended waiting in line for like an hour just to check in.
Once we got to our room we unloaded all our crap and started planning out what exactly we were going to do. We got there Thursday and the festival didn’t start until the Friday so we had a night to relax and check out the sights/food Vegas had to Offer.
We walked up and down the strip, checking out some really cool shops, ended up buying fucking clothes, smh. We checked out the bars, ran into a dam robot making drinks! Lol it was crazy, and that robot made a dam good drink, I tell you what! We checked out the hotels and casinos as well but we didn’t gamble really, we didn’t want to lose all our money the first night.
We did stumble upon, Johnny Rockets, inside The Flamingo, and wholy shit am I glad we did. That place is bomb, and I’m not gonna lie, we both love In-N-Out Burger but we both think we may like Johnny Rocket’s More! If you can believe it!? It was that good, I’m not gonna try to even come up with the words again, it was hard enough the first time when I left them this Awesome Review!
We went to The Hard Rock Cafe Casino/Venue, totally saw DJ Khalid on our way in and it was super crazy, only because no one else really noticed him. I’ve seen famous artists before and its crazy but for some reason its even crazier when your the only one that notices them, he was low key af, I would have talked to him but he was on the phone, perhaps thats why no one else was bothering him lol. I bet he does that to move thru a crowd, he skirted off in a mini van with like 8 doods, weird as shit and super crazy that I had to make a video of it. Lindsey didn’t even notice him, but the funny thing is was she was trying to take a picture of the sign above the doorway and totally snapped a pic of him by accident, everything but him is blurry in the picture lmao!
Of course we had to check out the legendary fountain. I thought it was gonna be lame and overrated but dam was that a badass fountain lol. It shot like 60 feet in the air and it had crazy lights and the lights and fountain were synced with some jamming music, it was pretty tight, I wasn’t expecting all that. I just thought it was a fountain that shot up like 15 feet every so often, that shit was a show in its self lol.
After we checked out the strip and all that good stuff we headed back to our room to get a lil rest before the festival started. We woke up a lil early and moved our chill sesh up to the pool where the tunes were on point, I was pulling soundhound out for literally every song lol. The pool was on the roof and it had really cool chill spots and a pretty sick bar, and you already know the view was stellar. It was crazy how many people were in Vegas for EDC, almost everyone up chilling at the pool was going. Met a lot of cool people.
First Night of EDC
Getting to EDC was a journey all in its self, the traffic was way crazier than I had even imagined, but once we got out our uber and headed to the line, we got in fairly quickly, and the security checkpoint was a breeze, didn’t really check out bags, barely a pat down, so that was nice, made the lines move very quickly. Once we walked up the ramp and got eyesight over the hill, the electric sky was revealed to us, literally one of the craziest-cool looking things I have ever seen, it was like a living organism I cant even describe how much shit was going on.
The lineup was seriously stacked for all three days, which was awesome because I had to buy tickets for this festival before the lineup even dropped, so I was worried, but in the end I was not disappointed.
The first night the people I had to see were; Lauren Lane, JOYRYDE, Mike Will Made-it, Kaskade, Chevvy Chase, Diplo, Borgore, Excision. We saw them all and they all killed it, we saw some other people through the night but I don’t remember the names. Throughout all of this amazing music, we were constantly stumbling upon something new and crazy, it was so fascinating to see how much work they put into this festival. It was so big and awesome that the moment I walked in I got a little sad that it only lasted 3 days, lol. There was a lot of really cool and nice people, like usual, always nice leaving “real life” where you usually have to deal with asswholes, and go hand out with a bunch of awesome like minded people, always a good time!
There was a shit ton of people here, I knew it was North America’s biggest dance festival but I had no idea it was going to be as crazy as it was, and that was only Friday, the least busiest day of the festival. It was crazy, but the crowd was so awesome and their was nothing but good vibes, there was only one show that the crowd was shit, I’ll cover that when we get to the third night, but other than the 1 show, the crowd was really crazy. I’ve been to a lot of festivals, concerts, and shows, but I have never been to a festival (Biggest One in my Country) where you could get literally right up front and have 3-5ft all the way around you to dance, it was amazing, everybody was with it, usually its cramped and you never have room to really dance if you get close, you all just kinda bounce together lol.
We smashed on the food pretty quick, it was like we were trying to taste every option the first night. I will say my all time favorite food truck there was called Burgerfest, I got some BBQ Bacon burger, good this may have been the best burger I have ever eaten, I should really find them online and leave them a good review lol.
After we ate everything in the place we headed back to try and get some rest before the next onslaught of epicness.
Second Night of EDC
We walked around and tried to experience everything we missed the first night, I think you could be there a week before you saw half the shit there. There were some really cool light installations that we were chilling in and we met some cool people that we kicked it with for awhile, I believe they were from Indiana as well, small world. We saw; Moksi, Strange Club, Detlef, Space Jesus, Toneshifterz, Tiga, Kygo, Hardwell, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, Cheat Codes, and various others throughout the night. Everyone I just listed straight killed it, kygo and tiesto back to back was epic then they did a set together, shit was insane. Kygo is becoming a quick favorite of mine. It was my first time seeing toneshifterz, I thought they were pretty sick. This was my second time seeing cheat codes, there dope as hell. I don’t even remember the ride back to the hotel that night, I passed out the second we got in our uber, good thing too cuz the traffic was ridiculous!
Third Night of EDC
The third night was, excuse my language, FUCKIN INSANE, I’ve never seen so many people in my life. I thought the first few nights there were a shit ton of people, but the last night was like double that. I wish I would have taken a video of what it was like, we were moving in huge herds, everyone just pushing forward to get to the next show, it was the craziest thing. If someone would have tripped their poor souls would have been trampled. The third night we found out post Malone was gonna be there lol so we were like shit we gotta see him. We were actually seeing Big Wild at the same stage right before hand so it worked out perfect. Big Wild was insane, I Hope I have videos of him straight killing it, he’s insane! Then post was next and the crowd started to shift, we got a good spot but not too close. But it didn’t matter he drew a huge crowd, before we knew it we were packed tight as shit could barely move. And of course you had people just showing up trying to push there way to the front, which is fine if your cool about it but these people were asswholes pushing people and shit trying to fight, not a cool vibe, but still we stayed to see post. But that post malone crowd was definitely the only negative thing about EDC. We saw Borgeous, GRAVEDGR, Big Wild, Rezz, Headhunterz, Post Malone, Zedd, Tchami, Eric Prydz, Black Tiger Sex Machine, 1080p, Martin Garrix, Zomboy, Afrojack and others that night. They all killed it, my favorites were Big Wild and Headhunterz, such insane shows.
All in all, Electric Daisy Carnival was by far the most insane festivals Ive been to, I feel like I didn’t even get to experience it all, I don’t think theres anyway you could in that short amount of time, I might just have to go back.
Plus while EDC’s going on the have something called EDC Week where all the clubs and venues got sick shows and after parties, you could easily spend thousands on tickets alone.
So much to do, for anyone thats never gone, I would highly recommend going! Totally worth the money!
The picture above is a french toast breakfast sandwich and is was dope. go get it. at roxys.
I have been busy! I am working on multiple projects at the moment, very excited about all of them, even more excited about being done with them and moving on to the next set.
I am working on some new pages for the site, I am launching my review page here within a few days, as well as updating my about page and my services page. I have been so busy working on other things, I haven’t been able to update this site as much, but I’ve been slowly working on all aspects and am super excited on the results I’m coming up with. Even more excited to share with everyone.
I have a new project that has top priority, titled “Project: Night Owl” super stoked on this opportunity, gonna keep this one under wraps until its complete which could take a few months, no worries I am documenting all the behind the scenes, should make for some awesome content.
I am working on putting together my EDC post, and editing together all of my footage, should make for a nice read.
I have a few Instagram accounts available for sale through my side hustle, CyberWorkz. Also, I am moving CyberWorkz into the Influencer game, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, I know so many people that can be influencers that don’t know anything about it. I have been wanting to take some people with the potential and guide them to influencer status. If you are interested you should DM me, I am working on a dedicated page for CyberWorkz that will be hosted on this page.
I am working on a lot of Graphic and Web Design projects for various clients, this has been taking most of my time, but no worries, everything is moving along.
Cant wait to finish up my current projects, its time, lol.
And Once Again, my ebooks are coming, there gonna be good, I want them to be truly unique and real, so I’m in no hurry!
